Curiosity by nature
Humans are curious creatures and have a strong need for learning new things. Curiosity is what has allowed humans to survive to this day and age. It is not only that we as humans are curious about stuff because we want to survive, but our curiosity expands even beyond that and we tend to be curious about things not necessary for our survival.
Curiosity is the key ingredient for many features in human behavior such as creativity. Curiosity leads to learning which leads to knowledge. With knowledge we can make connections between informations. With so much information available today curiosity and creativity are in very high levels.
Optimisation of productivity
Productivity growth is a crucial source of growth in living standards. Companies in global economy are always seeking new ways to be more productive. Because of the high levels of creativity in today’s world, new creative ways to boost productivity are also created in form of automation and technology. Typical line worker jobs which were created during the Industrial Revolution, traditionally associated with the middle class are beginning to disappear either because of automation or outsourcing. This is because it has become more efficient and cost effective to let machines do certain jobs. This has the side effect to drive those people out of work but also to create new jobs.

Information Age has provided a lot of new ways to be creative which shows in today’s economy in form of new jobs and roles across industries. Information Age has also allowed industries to utilize a new set of tools which were not previously present, that has resulted in an overwhelmingly increasing amounts of data and information to be utilized in productivity. This is why the job market is is constantly seeking new creative thinkers and ‘mind workers’ to help businesses and industries to utilize this information to compete in the economy.
With the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) during the last decade, there has been a lot of talk about machines replacing humans and jobs in the future. Right now we can say with good certainty that AI will not be capable of replacing creative jobs in the coming decades. Creating a creative machine that could potentially replace a creative human is still very far away. With this in mind the need for creativity in the global economy will be staying relevant and rising within human workforce.
